FREDERICKSBURG
Fredericksburg, settled over 150 years ago by German immigrants, is
located in the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. With wide streets
lined with picturesque homes and buildings, that Old World charm still
exists. Fredericksburg is home to numerous natural and historical parks,
and its historic district provides guests with a view into her past.
Fredericksburg's quaint shops have something for every taste. Our tour
will include lunch at one of the local favorite restaurants and one of the
following venues at no additional charge. Your selection must be made at
the time you decide to offer this tour.
1. The Admiral Nimitz Historical Park and Museum of the Pacific War
is dedicated to everyone who served in the Pacific War. The George Bush
Gallery of the Pacific War, the Plaza of the Presidents, and the History
Walk of the Pacific War are all part of the park.
2. Pioneer Museum Complex is located on approximately 3.5 acres and
has ten separate structures. It contains superb examples of early German
structures and artifacts.
3. Jeep Collins Jewelry Workshop. Guided tours are available where you
can watch skilled craftsmen create jewelry. After the tour you will visit
the visitors' center and retail shop.
4. The Butterfly Ranch is an active working butterfly ranch specializing in
Monarch and native butterflies. Located in the historic Loeffler-Weber
House, guests can witness the beginning of the butterfly life cycle as
butterflies lay eggs on larval plants in the brood cages. Visit the green
house that is used to raise butterflies from eggs.
