CRUISIN' LAKE AUSTIN Your guests will have a delightful cruise right through the heart of Austin, aboard Town Lake's only authentic double decked paddle wheeler. Guests will see the beautiful Austin City skyline, a myriad of ducks, Great Blue Herons, Black Swans, and a variety of other fowls. Guests will cruise along the 100' limestone cliffs, which form the edge of the Balcones fault line, and glide by immense bald cypress trees, some of the oldest in the city. Optional: March through October, one hour sunset bat watching tour: Austin is home to the largest urban colony of Mexican Free-tail bats in North America. They migrate into the city every Spring to set up residence beneath the historic Congress Avenue Bridge. Their nightly exodus is among the most spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities in America and there is no better place to watch than from the river.* *Please note: This is a very popular activity and reservations need to be made well in advance.
